Stabbing Westward killed it. Christopher Hall’s vocals were insane—some leads lose it as they age, that was certainly not the case here. He hit every high note, and screamed every line perfectly. I might even say better than the album for which they were touring.
Darkest Days was released 20 years ago. While that fact is instantly recognizable, it still holds up. The band made light of its age, cracking jokes about how goth they were and just being generally un-serious despite the content of their songs. They played the whole album from top to bottom, took a quick break, played a few songs from 1994, and finished with Save Yourself. It’s definitely worth getting out to see them at least once.
