The Top 5 Manliest Vehicles Around - Which One Would You Want?

![The five manliest vehicles][L0]

I did a VERY informal and indirect survey of about 154 men to find out what the manliest vehicle is. The answers varied a lot, especially from the “car guys”, but in the end I had a lot of common answers. Here are the top five cars that men picked.

1. Chevrolet Corvette

Corvette Stingray - 1963

The Corvette is THE classic American car. In my study the ones that came up the most were the C4, L88 , Stingray, and Z06 . All wonderful, but I’m privy to the Stingray. A 2009 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 LZ3 starts at about $78,210.

2. International Harvester Scout II

International Scout II Truck

This was a funny one but there’s really no denying the full-on masculinity of a Scout II. I mean just look at it. It’s like the epitome of a guy: kind of ugly, a little burly, and about as functional as it gets. If you can find one you may have the pleasure of procuring it for a mere $5,500.

3. Dodge Viper

Dodge Viper

It’s funny that this car makes it onto every guy’s list of car’s he’d like to own, but at the same time, it’s probably the one car that will always be out of reach. A 2008 Dodge Viper SRT -10 Convertible will empty your wallet, your bank account, and all of your friend’s bank accounts at about $117,104. Ouch.

4. Ford Mustang Shelby

1970 Ford Mustang - Shelby tuned

Of course the classic Mustang made the list. Notice I said classic. The GT’s and GT500 ’s fit in well here too, but I must make some qualifications. If you drive a Mustang it must be a stick shift. Don’t question my wisdom or the ladies will be calling you a pansy. You’ll find one of these puppies in any price range from $6,500 to over $250,000 depending on its history and the amount of TLC it has had.

5. Porsche 911

Classic Porsche 911

I always wanted a Porsche when I was a kid. I’d still like to at least drive one before I die. Interestingly enough, you can find a late model Porsche for $8,500 bones. I’d say that’s a pretty good deal, except it would probably cost at least that to repair anything that breaks. BTW , you pronounce it Porsh-uh. It’s a family name and that’s how they say it.

The runner ups

There were certainly a lot more great cars on the list but I thought I’d mention number’s 6-11 because they’re just a lot of fun.

  • BMW M5
  • Dodge Charger
  • Hummer H1
  • AC Shelby Cobra
  • Mitsubishi EVO
