This post has stuff about religion and a previous relationship. My perspective has changed
This was a long day! We took the big blue pickup truck from Phnom Phen to Paleli. Eight hours! In the back of a truck! It was a crazy ride for sure. We were zooming around potholes and passing by little Cambodian villages. It was a great way to see the countryside.
The last two hours were rough. It was getting dark and the road was in complete disrepair. I really think that there were more potholes than road! We finally took the cover off the back of the truck and just stood up. It made it easier to take the big bumps, plus it was nice and cool outside. That was so nice.
EEK . We checked in to the hotel we’re staying at for pretty much the rest of the trip, and it’s nasty! Our sheets have pubic hairs on them, the pillows too. There is no hot water in the shower. The shower is in the bathroom, much like the room we stayed in in Phnom Phen. We felt like the room was crawling with bad stuff. We prayed and prayed and finally fell asleep listening to the Dwell CD – Fully clothed, and on top of the covers!
This town is really hopping. Prostitution is a huge market out here. I guess the reason Anna chose this hotel is because prostitutes don’t knock on your doors all night. I am really thankful for that.
It’s really stretching Mary and I though. It’s really hard. The loud karaoke that they play all night long (across the street) is funny, but when you’re trying to sleep, well, it can be frustrating.
