I just finished reading 9 to 5 = average by Eric Karjaluoto. I get the point. I agree with Eric when he says â€œBalance may not lead to breakthrough,â€ but the problem I have with that statement is that breakthroughâ€”success, in other wordsâ€”isn’t all there is to life.
Don’t get me wrong. I own a business and I work my butt off. I’ve had more than a couple all-nighters in the past week alone. I’m not saying that working a lot is necessarily wrong, or that success is evil, I’m just saying that those things in and of themselves are empty.
Albert Einstein said â€œTry not to become a man of success but rather try to become a man of value.â€
What would you rather be, a successful _worker_â€”well known and respected, cutting edge, world-renownâ€”or a successful person? They have very diffent measures.
