Fix Those Squeaky Doors

Posted on

This post has stuff about religion and a previous relationship. My perspective has changed

Since Red 1 decided that she didn’t want to sleep in her crib anymore we’ve been having a heck of a time getting her to bed at night. Tonight after screaming “I don’t want it” for an hour she finally crashed out by the door of her room, wrapped in blankets. I was able to pick her up and put her in bed without waking her up, but that’s not always the case. You see, there’s this one thing…that squeaky door!

Most nights it goes something like this: put the kids to bed, screaming, crash, I move Red 1 to her bed, close the door (squeak), screaming. But it’s not just the kid’s door. This is pandemic throughout our house. We’re talking the guest bedroom, the guest bathroom, the master bedroom. Squeaky!

That squeak is coming for me. When the dog whines, I hear squeaking. Car brakes, squeaking. Wife sleeping, squeaking. Red 2, squeakingok well he pretty much just cries. It’s even haunting me in my dreams.

This week’s Honey-Did

With that said, this week’s “honey-did” is fixing the squeaks. It’s easy to apply a little silicone spray to the hinges on the doors. If they’re still squeaky after that I may need to take the pins out and lube em up all proper like.
