Teaching Dogs How to Do Their Business

Here are some tips on potty training your dog.

Buy a kennel, it’s worth it. A dog won’t go to the bathroom in it’s crate/kennel. When you take the dog out, put it on a leash and take it directly to where it is that you want it to go. Let it do it’s job and praise the heck out of it. Hooray!

In Ella’s case, she was really shy and wouldn’t go in front of us so we started closing her in to the area where she needed to do her thing. She got it really quick!

Secondly, make sure that you keep your puppy on a leash at all times until it’s trained. If your dog is like Ella and she doesn’t go for the first week or two when you bring her outside, it’ll try to go in the house. If you don’t have it on a leash you’re gonna miss it and the dog is going to go on the floor, they’re fast! But if you’ve got it on a leash and you start to see it do it’s business, you can tell it "NO" and take it out side as fast as possible. In my experience that’s totally the way to do it. Ella leared the best that way.
